Brushed Oak Floor Revival

Alresford Interiors were called in to sand a brushed oak floor in desperate need of a new lease of life. Due to its brushed nature, it was very important for us to ensure all of the old finish was removed to achieve a fresh clean floor, so a firm sanding was required.

A matt lacquer was the finish of choice. In this instance, a lacquer would achieve a much better effect due to the colour and grain of the wood, instead of an oiled finish. There were also double doors leading out onto a patio area, so a larger footfall is much better suited to a lacquered floor thanks to its durability.
